The expectations for Second Year students are higher than for First Year, but the rewards of your spiritual maturity will be greater as well.

  1. CHARACTER: Students are expected to act with integrity, honesty, respect, and the qualities of God’s agape love, as detailed in 1 Corinthians 13. Second Year students set a high standard of Spirit-led behavior for the rest of the student body to emulate.
  2. ATTENDANCE: Students are expected to attend EVERY class meeting (whether via Zoom or in person). There are rare circumstances which may prevent students from being able to attend school, but attendance should be considered a matter of integrity and taken seriously. Remember that in order to get maximum benefit and personal transformation from Charis, you must be present in class.
  3. PUNCTUALITY: We expect you to show up to class on time. Make a habit of arriving 10 minutes early to ensure you have a buffer for any unexpected circumstances.
  4. PUBLIC SPEAKING: You must successfully complete all public speaking activities in order to pass Second Year. Instructors will be guiding you through this process.
  5. DISCIPLESHIP EVANGELISM / eCHARIS: You will be required to do one of the following over the course of Second Year:
    • Recruit and start leading at least one person through the DE program, completing the 48-lesson program with them.
    • Lead a First Year eCharis group
  6. MISSION TRIP: You must successfully complete mission trip requirements to pass Second Year. This includes going on a mission trip and consistently demonstrating good character.
  7. COURSEWORK/ASSIGNMENTS:  You must complete all coursework and assignments with excellence and in a timely manner.  Tests must be taken by the due date in order to pass.  Otherwise the test will be considered a retake with a maximum score of 70% possible.
